Hand Buidling Pottery 101

In this handbuilding class students will learn the basics of clay and experiment with several handbuilding techniques. Every class will be very hands-on with the goal of creating as many items as possible to take home and cherish. Example pieces will be shown to give students an idea of what kind of projects they will want to create. 

Students will learn about clay, the firing process, and the tools they will be using.  Students will explore the different handbuilding techniques such as coiling, pinching, slab rolling, molds and scooping. Different decoration techniques will be taught. We will be going over glazing, wax resist, sgraffito, slip, underglazes, stamps and more. New to beginner students welcome—no previous handbuilding experience necessary. (Material fee includes Clay, Tools, Firings and Glaze) 

All ages are welcome in this class. 

Siblings and Friends are welcome to sign up together for a Semi-Private Class. (3 Max)
